At only 21, Cara Delevingne has made an imprint on the fashion world that many can only dream.
Fashion has fallen in love with this unique beauty who has girls everywhere trading in their tweezers for her trademark thick eyebrows to signature latest trendy obsession. She’s been called “The Anti-Model”, “The Wild Card”, & (my favorite), “One Bad Ass Model”. Her carefree spirit resonates voluminously through her personality & style as she transforms from the main stages of some of fashion’s top designers, Chanel & Burberry to the streets of London donning Jeffrey Scott’s’ iconic Bart Simpson printed sweater. We may see her dressed in the most delicate of couture but its her personal style that makes her one of fashion’s newest style icons.
Cara’s street style is what makes her so damn lovable besides the fact she just seems like the girl that brings fun to any situation. Her cool attitude translates into her simplistic choice of clothing and moments of excessive layering.
Three Things We can Learn From Cara Delevingne
1. Two style personalities are better than one!
Cara proves that she is undefinable as she constantly goes from glamorous model to street suave tomboy! On the red carpet she is the image of a posed & sophistication dressed in nothing but the best designer garments but what I love about Cara is her ability to pull a 180° and give us totally street wear realness. I, for one, can appreciate the comfort and simplicity of leather jackets and relaxed fitted jeans.
2. Patterns don’t make you, you make the patterns.
I’ve never taken Cara for one that cares for rules . Her love of prints & patterns are a clear indication that her attitude is more along the lines of “Hell, I like it, I’ll wear it.” When it comes to the rest of us, we are a bit more fearful of patterns. There is a lessons to be learned here: If you love it then wear it, proudly!
3. A fashion statement is as simple as a graphic tee.
Its no surprise that Cara would have a love for something as incomplex and entertaining as graphic tees! This a staple for Cara’s closet and one of her signatures pieces; it is true expression of her playful personality. Graphic tees are a dynamic and easy way to be expressive and fashion without much styling complication as proven by Miss Delevingne. Oh, and they can be quite inexpensive!
It might come as a surprise to the self-proclaimed tomboy that she has sudden rocket in the arms of the fashion community, but her effortless ability to walk runways & be the face of high fashion brands then leave it all behind for her tee and jeans is testament of her unchangeable style. She gladly trades in Brian Atwood’s for a pair of Converses. says, “Comfort is very key to me because I spend most of my time in very uncomfortable things, so it’s all about trainers and flats.” I’m with you, honey!
