We Need Writers

OBVIOUS Magazine is looking for part-time Contributing Writers to write content for the brand on obviousmag.com, print, social media, and our digital platforms.

Globally recognized, we are an independent magazine with 3 million views per month via social media and obviousmag.com combined.

You’ll gain access to some of the top fashion, charity, influential people, and entertainers in Los Angeles, New York, London, and aboard. You must be highly driven, creative, dedicated, reliable, and hardworking. Ideally, you will help produce engaging content each week. You must be familiar with WordPress, Word Doc, Google Docs, and Pages. Candidates must be able to produce articles on short notice, however, not always required.

This position is for individuals who are interested in gaining more experience, notoriety, and recognition as a writer to help boost their resume. This position is unpaid.

Commitment:

One (1) article per week. Four (4) articles per month. We recommend writing all four (4) articles and submitting them as one batch of four in advance allowing us to place as schedule post per week for four weeks.

After 16 posts, you’ll be considered for a featured post on our website or in print to help promote your brand. Some restrictions will apply. A Letter of Recommendation will be made available if needed.

When applying, include your resume, three pitch ideas, and three writing samples. Please, add your Instagram handle (no private accounts, please) and your website (if you have one). Passionate pitch ideas only.

All approved applicants will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement and a Work-for-Hire Agreement. You retain the complete right and ownership of all submitted content. OBVIOUS Magazine has licensing rights to use material exclusively for two (2) years. Your name will be credited and tagged via obviousmag.com and Instagram (if you have a page).

Cover/Editorial Designer Needed

We are looking for a freelance editorial designer to assist us in designing our covers, features, and editorial spreads. We need the opening pages of our editorials designed (see links below). We’ll also need some of the fashion and product pages laid out as well.

The candidate must be reliable and have excellent communication skills. We are looking for someone who will bring eye-catching and creative designs to our publication. This opportunity could lead to a permanent position.

Rate Offer:

$5 -15 per page (depends on the scope of the work need for the design)
