After a fantastic but busy week at New York Fashion Week, I needed to regroup from all of the hustle and bustle from the fast city, so I headed to Sonesta Bee Cave to get away and relax.
Upon arrival, greeted by a charming bellman who assisted me with my bags, I was met with the spectacular decor, and amicably warm staff. Gensler, the design firm responsible for the interior design, did not skip a beat on the details. The interior represented the surrounding area with vibrant colors, natural dark colored wood, and textured stones. Minimalism is a consistent theme throughout the hotel with clean lines and excellent flow.
My corner king room was spacious and cozy with a stand-in shower, duo sinks and a comfortable chaise lounge that added to my relaxation.
Meridian 98
Meridian 98, an upscale Rooftop Lounge & Bar on the top floor has vintage-style ceiling fans, chic leather furniture, and the mahogany plantation shutters complimenting the superb views. This impressive design concept was very well thought out from the bar to the patio area.
If you are a fan of tapas style dining, this Farm to Fork Texas Fare is the perfect restaurant for you. From Ahi Tuna Sliders, Pork Belly Sliders (shown), The Traditional Flat Bread Pizza and Cheesecake Trio (shown) for dessert. Shared plates, Gluten-Free options, and a Kid’s Menu are available. The next day I tried the breakfast buffet. Served Monday – Friday from 6 am-10 am at $12 per person and Saturday – Sunday from 7 am – 11 am at $15 per person.
The BeeKeeper, a drink recommended by the mixologist from the fully stocked bar was made deliciously right. Mixed with Dripping Springs Gin, Clement Orange, fresh lime juice, cucumber, and mint. It’s refreshing and full of flavor.
