In a world where capturing the attention of others seems to be a high achievement, Schepperheyn reminds us in that their collaboration with Monty Python for their A/W 2019 collection that not being seen can be life preserving even for a few seconds.
With imagery of explosions (though as a consequence) and dense forest that can conceal someone in a variety of ways, presented with garments that surprisingly doesn’t try too hard to blend in. White trenches, pink trousers, and a one-piece plaid jumpsuit to name a few items in this collaboration, are pieces that can take you a long way, yet do stand out and causes the eye to take notice.
Upon closer inspection, details that hide in plain sight, such as metal hooks upon belt loops or lowered pockets upon trousers come to serve an appreciated purpose. Scarves and tee shirts are printed with images of destruction, causing you to recall the reel it references, bringing a sense of delight to the collection.
