For his N°21 Autumn/Winter 2019 Men’s collection, designer Alessandro Dell’Acqua drew inspiration from “Querelle de Brest,” a film of mystery and passion.
The sailor/nautical references are apparent within the collection with the use of details that may seem small to the naked eye but do not go unnoticed throughout the show.
Lace-up details, double layered tees, and tanks bring attention to the neckline and shoulders. The peeks of bareness enhance the emotional tone of the collection and we are graced with dark tones that present a toughness even with the use of materials that are light-catching.
Smart tailoring was vital, and the overall easygoing flair is found in details such as his animal prints, choker necklaces, and outerwear designs which were worn slightly off balance. While still within the boundaries of menswear, we see the lines of femininity crossed, revealing a youthful and elevated look at the world of today.
