What music are you listening to at the moment? Anything with beautiful acoustic sounds; H.E.R. & Sabrina Claudio have been on repeat lately.
What has 2020 taught you? Life is unexpected; it can be flipped upside down at a moment’s notice. Appreciate what you have, enjoy the simple things, and love on your loved ones as much as possible.
Three things the pandemic forced you to change? Being a hugger, I’ve become a hand sanitizer hoarder and cannot book a vacation so freely.
Favorite movie and tv show: Dirty Dancing and The Walking Dead – complete different ends of the spectrum, I know. I’m a very eclectic individual, lol.
Favorite designer, fragrance, and beauty/grooming products?
Favorite designer would have to be one who is daring, steps outside of the box and isn’t afraid to show the visibly plus-size body. For that matter, one who offers ALL types of bodies, someone who dares to be different, and to me, that someone is Becca McCharen-Tran.
As for fragrance; perfumes, I’m more of an anything natural kinda-gal; the scents of cocoa butter, frankincense & myrrh, make me happy.
What would you be doing if you weren’t modeling? I’d absolutely love to work behind the scenes. I can see a future as a Creative Director in this industry.
What’s something uncool that you love anyway? Glasses. I’m blind as a bat, so anytime I can find some dope frames, it’s like a kid in a candy store, lol.
What’s the best thing about your hometown/country? Philadelphia has such a beautiful skyline & the cheesesteaks are a must! (Ishkabibbles or Max’s)
Place you would love to visit? Number 1 place on my bucket list is, hands down, Egypt.
Which brand would you love to model? Due to the facts stated above, I would absolutely love to model for Chromat. A goal of mine is to walk in their runway show during NYFW. It’s so magical, so out of the box, and their representation is everything!
Do you prefer to be called ‘Plus-Size,’ ‘Curvy’ or both? I don’t have a preference. Either way, I rep these curves like there is no tomorrow. I love my body, and I am a huge advocate for body positivity & self-love.
You have managed to create your own lane via your Instagram page. What motivates you to do so? My daughter. I want her and other girls and women to know we are beautiful; we are worthy, no matter what society says otherwise.
Favorite modeling experience thus far? Thus far, my favorite experience would definitely have to be the time I worked side by side with stylist Meaghan O’Connor, modeling for her Mad for Plaid segment featured on Access Daily. It was such an exhilarating moment that I will forever be grateful for.
What are some of your challenges as a model? I’m not your tallest model; most castings are for 5’9 +, so that’s been a struggle. As well as, I got what most people would say a late start, but I refuse to let that get in the way. If anything, it makes me want to work harder.
Your favorite feature on your body? Why? My favorite feature would have to be my freckles. As a child, I struggled with having them; it took me years to embrace them, and once I finally did, I realized my freckles are like my own personal starry night.
Currently, you’re obsessed with or about? Binge-watching various series has become my addiction, thanks to quarantine.
