Daze Feathers may only stand at 5’3 (which is the height of most well-known actresses) doesn’t allow her height to become a crutch as she grows her brand. Based in Philly, she is indeed a creative force and dreams of collaborating with brands: Pyer Moss, Sally Lapointe, and Marc Jacobs.
Interview
Name: Daze Feathers
Agency, if any: Free agent
Age: 25
Height: 5’3
Instagram: @DazeFeathers_
Where were you born? Atlantic City, NJ
Explain the name ‘Daze Feathers.’ I wanted to create a name that was ‘euphorically’ marketable. I wanted a name that rolled off the tongue. I came up with the name in the shower. The ‘Feathers’ part came before the ‘Daze’ part. I wanted to leave my audience in ‘Daze’ or to get lost in a ‘visual illusion’.
Ethnicity: African-American
Zodiac Sign: Virgo
Favorite things: I love all things fashion, editorial, style, digital collaging/doodling, FOOD, texture, sunglasses, watches, Michael Jackson, Pharrell, Kanye.
What music are you listening to at the moment? I’ve been listening to J.Cole, The Internet, Kali Uchis, Miguel, Sza, Solange, Tierra Whack, Sango, Iman Omari, Ro& Luke James, Anderson Pakk, Chris Brown, Thundercat, Calogero – there is just so much great music out right now!
Favorite movie, tv show: My favorite movie is a toss between The Wiz or Michael Jackson’s Moon Walker. My favorite TV show is Black-ish right now.
Favorite designer, fragrance or grooming product: My favorite designer has to be Marc Jacobs or Sally Lapointe. My favorite fragrance: Daisy by Marc Jacobs.
Describe your personal style in 3 words. Tomboy. Chic. Minimalistic.
What would you be doing if you weren’t modeling? I hope to be forever creating something in fashion and style. I love creating visual fashion editorial concepts for photo shoots. I aspire to be a creative editor for a magazine under my own branding ‘Daze Feathers.’
What’s something uncool that you love anyway? I would say learning a little bit about everyone’s integral role in completing a project so that I know what to expect from all creatives participating when I create things for my brand independently.
What’s the best thing about your hometown/country? Philly has the best food, artistry, and accessibility!
Place you would love to visit: The Caribbean.
Which brand would you love to model for? I would love to model for Pyer Moss, Sally Lapointe, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, and Dior. (Clearly, I’ve been pondering about this LOL.)
Favorite modeling experience so far? Creating with Natasha Joker on her “Bath Tub” Photography series was such a wonderful creative experiment. (Which are some of the glitter featured photos)
Currently, you’re obsessed with/about? Currently, I am obsessed with these ‘sock-looking’ sneakers seen everywhere. Even if you can’t afford the Givenchy ones, there are great ones like Steve Madden’s ‘Bitten’ sneakers which are marked at an affordable price point. I like fashion that is accessible to all pocketbooks.
3 Words that best describe you as a person? Creative. Ambitious. Eclectic.
Favorite entertainer or public personality? Michael Jackson and Pharrell Williams.
Your favorite quote? “Choice is a divine teacher, for when we choose we learn that nothing is ever put in our path without a reason.” – Iyanla Vanzant
Any shoutouts? I would like to shout you out OBVIOUS Magazine ( as well as Jerris Madison, Editor in Chief) for always being supportive in my independent creative fashion career. This magazine has shown me so much love over the years, and words can’t express how grateful I am for your medium! I also want to shout out all the Philly creatives who gave me an opportunity to take lead/passenger, collaborate, as well as be your muse with your ‘art babies’ until they’ve come to fruition. You’ve been instrumental in my growth as a creative.
