Kate Moss could very well be the face of Christian Dior’s latest beauty line, WWD reported Friday. A tip told the mag that the new campaign would entail a lipstick endorsement, but Dior has yet to comment on the rumor. What say you on a pouty-lipped Kate? Surely wouldn’t require a stretch of the imagination.

Condé Nast is now allowing individual magazine publishers to seize control of their own websites. Condé Nast formerly controlled all marketing and advertising for its web properties. This new move has been pushed for by individual publishers for quite some time, but it will dramatically reduce the power of Condé Nast. Nast will now only be responsible for sites without corresponding print magazines! How will this affect the company overall? Do you foresee any further major changes in the near future?

If you’re a fashionista who loves to be fab, but doesn’t want to break your budget or the bank, cry no more! Affordable retailer, Target, is kicking off the GO International Designer Collective. The collection will feature 34 pieces from 17 designers including Zac Posen, Rodarte and Alice Temperley. I’m pretty sure the pieces will be a far cry from what’s usually presented on the runway but you can look forward to some stylish pieces that will be a great addition to your closet. Will you be heading to your local Target to grab some of these haute items or is there a limit to how low you will go?

As per usual, Halle can do no wrong. This sultry, yet elegant Yves St. Laurent number was worn by the starlet at the 32nd Annual Carousel of Hope Gala, an event which raises awareness for childhood diabetes.

Lovers of all things Vera Wang can look forward to the designer entering yet another retail partnership. From those who’ve lusted over her high-end gowns, to shoppers who’ve given her “Simply Vera” line a go – there’s more to come. And pieces from this line won’t set you back several thousand dollars.
Vera Wang White, a line set to be carried by David’s Bridal in early 2011, will be Vera’s latest step into fashion frugality. The price range for her line is reportedly $600 to $1,200 – a far cry from some of her familiar bridal designs, which can reach the $20,000 mark.

Susan Posen will no longer hold her position as the company’s chair and CEO with son, Zac Posen. She states that it’s time for her to pursue other interests. Yet, Susan still maintains that the company is headed in a positive direction and is primed for growth. Ha! I think not. Everyone knows that Zac Posen has been struggling to find a customer base in the U.S. and his debut collection in Paris was met with mixed reviews.

Beijing is a much different place than it was 20 years ago. Most if not all of the premier designers in fashion have opened stores in the city as well as across the country of China. With prices marked up 40% higher than in the Western hemisphere, it’s amazing that people are still buying! The women of Beijing, however, are saving for months just to purchase the whimsical works of Chanel, Dior, and other designers.

Designers are finally shifting from the boyish skinny male look to the grown and sexy working man prototype. The economic downfall has inspired the world of menswear to return to the iconic male of the Depression, replacing the long tradition of young fresh-faced teen male models with strong GQ men in print ads and on the runway.

Polly Vernon of Harper’s Bazaar interviewed Amy Winehouse about her new apparel collection that she co-designed with Fred Perry and apparently Winehouse was unable to answer any of the questions coherently.
Tell me about the Fred Perry project. It seems like you really knew what you wanted from it.
“Ve’y much so.Ve’y much so. And that’s been the whole thing. We’ve pretty much done like up to autumn/winter 2012, and I’m like, ‘Have we?’ Yeah!”
It was easy?
“Mmm-hmmm. Yeah, yeah, it was not hard at all, not hard at all, because, like …”
Someone hands her a crayfish salad and removes the empty soup pot from her hands. “Thank you, baby!” she says to the provider of the salad. She turns back to me.
“I knew exactly what I wanted. And I love Fred Perry so much. I was honored that they would even, like, ‘Do you want to come and do a line?’ Me? Like, me?” She stabs a finger into her chest. “Yeah!” she adds.
Okay. Do you consider yourself a style icon?
“A style, like, what?”
A style icon, I repeat.
“Style, like … ?”
Icon!
“No, of course not!”
But you are! People have altered the way they look as a consequence of your look. Tattoos have gained new currency; heavy eyeliner is widely imitated.
“Uh-huh. I don’t think that’s true. I just dress like … I’m an old black man. Sorry!” she says. “Like I’m an old Jewish black man. I just dress like it’s still the ’50s.”
All of that talent is clearly being wasted on drugs and booze. I hope she pulls it together soon and releases another album, because Back to Black was an instant classic.
