The LGBT community comes together to discuss dating, love, and sex with the first Kiss & Tell Dating and Relationship Panel and charity event in Downtown Los Angeles hosted by Jayce Baron.
February 8, 2015 – Los Angeles, CA – Blogger, writer, and social entrepreneur, Jayce Baron, brings the first Kiss & Tell LGBT Dating and Relationship Panel hosted at Downtown Independent in Los Angeles. From a gay HIV activist, drag queen performer, transgender humanitarian, to lesbian YouTube personality, the diverse and opinionated Kiss & Tell panelists elaborated on topics such as “sexting”, masculine and feminine roles when it comes to courting, romantically entertaining someone a friend has slept with, and DL dating. Kiss & Tell was designed to give an opportunity for the community to take those unspoken closed door conversations you have with your friends and openly discuss topics and issues that gays face.
Following, the event took a zestful twist where raffled guests competed for a chance to court Kiss & Tell’s eligible bachelor, Javon May, cover model seen in SNYTCH, Kraze, and Vogue Italia. The lucky winner received a date sponsored by Islands Restaurants and Sky Zone Trampoline Park. Chilled wine and fresh popcorn were served as singer/songwriter J.Gordon concluded the event with his audience engaging rendition of Beyonce’s “Best Thing I Never Had” and John Legend’s ballad “All of Me”. Local designer, Cafe De La Hue, wowed guest with his cafe themed bowtie collection pop-up shop.
Sponsors also included TruEvolution, grr Apparel, and DJ Higher LvL. Kiss & Tell collected clothing from attendees for The Los Angeles Mission on Skid Row in Downtown Los Angeles.
“The LGBT community can be a very insecure one. We don’t have a roadmap to how same-sex relationships work, so a lot of times we sweep our emotions under the rug because we simply don’t know what to do with them. I wanted to create an environment where we could not only be comfortable, laugh, and discuss any and everything, but also openly and collectively just talk about it because no one is. The Q&A was awesome. I’d love to further open this discussion.” – Jayce Baron
Panelist included Gabriel Maldonado, California Commissioner and CEO of TruEvolution, a youth development and social justice nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing social disparities through education, advocacy, health & wellness programs and services. “AmbersCloset”, lesbian stem YouTube personality, Jsimone, Los Angeles drag queen extraordinaire as well as Michelle’ Michaels, transgender, ballroom legend and LGBT Humanitarian.
