Mens Fashion Week Milan: BRAVO!

Mens Fashion Week in Milan prepared us for what’s to come Spring 2013 and left an amazing impression on menswear.

Last week, Mens Fashion Week Milan was in full effect in the fashion capital (for menswear). The Spring/Summer 2013 shows were about fitted silhouettes, color blocking and superb tailoring with luxurious detail that added a fresh feel to each collection.

This year was the return of Jil Sander back to the brand that bears her name. It was the first show in seven years for the German fashion designer. Without losing her signature touch, the collection was a hit!  She presented youthful patterns that made the collection a very modern feel.

Designer Salvatore Ferragamo opted for color blocking while Donatella Versace went a modern day, gladiatorial extravaganza that would have made her brother Gianni Versace  proud.

Dolce & Gabanna collection was all about a Sicilian theme. The fashion designers paid homage to their native hometown Sicily. The collection resembled a modern day Italian ‘father look’; with relaxed fits that gave an effortless mood. This worked for their collection because they embodied consistency throughout the entire runway show.

DSquared 2 was all about a hard, rocker edge. Leather, denim, slim cut jackets and blazers paired with combat boots was the overall look for the show. I must say this runway presentation was AMAZING!

Mens Fashion Week in Milan is over. Now it’s time to see what Paris and New York Fashion Week has to offer!
