Interview
Hometown and Current Occupations?
Murad and Nataly Osmann, we are from Moscow.
Murad: I am the owner and general producer for production company Hype. We make commercials, films, and musical videos. Last year our ad “Imagine” for S7 Airlines won Cannes Lions, this year the film “The Student” which we produced has been selected to compete for Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival.
Nataly is a journalist; she has launched a series of projects in Russia, and now is working on our new global website www.followmetotravel.com that will be a perfect platform for everyone that loves to travel.
Nataly: What inspired you to start taking photographs that lead you to travel around the world?
Traveling and photography were always my passions. When I began to explore the world with my loved one, it’s like a dream to come true and a passion project for us.
Did either of you ever imagine it would grow into what it is today and have such a cult following?
No, of course not, however, we don’t just travel for fun. We choose locations, outfits, meet a lot of locals, and take hundreds of photos to get the result you see on our Instagram. It is important for us that the photographs will be inspiring.
What’s your favorite place you’ve been thus far?
India! This country is worth seeing many times! Our first #FollowMeTo video on our new website is dedicated to India. The country is full of magic and energy, beautiful landscapes and temples, kind and amazing people.
With your busy international schedule, how do you stay connected to family back home?
The first thing we do when we arrive home is visit our parents and relatives. But thanks to social media, we stay even more connected during trips. Besides Instagram, Nataly loves online translations on Periscope and lately I’ve been addicted to Snapchat (follow us @followmeto). And of course, our parents are always our first followers on all the new social platforms we join 🙂
What were your first reactions when Macy’s contacted you?
Very excited! Macy’s is a brand with a vast history, and we are so happy to be a part of the campaign for INC.
What was your approach to the Macy’s INC International Concepts campaign and how does it differ from your typical approach?
Together with INC, we created a story for the campaign, chose locations, and for the first time, shot a #followmeto picture where Nataly turned around to face the camera. We also shared a lot of backstage photos and inspirational videos.
How do you think your brand matches up with the INC brand?
We have the same fresh and young philosophy! 🙂
Where Can People Find You both on Social Media?
