My boyfriend works in investment banking and is doing pretty well the first two years out of college. However, he moved in with his parents right after school to save money and pay off some debt, and he just stayed. I have an apartment and he is always over, spends the night, etc., but I want him to get a place of his own, away from mom and dad. Am I being petty?

Ask Jayce Baron: You are a legal adult after you turn 18 years old in the US. You can purchase cigarettes, get a tattoo, and vote on concrete decisions made by society. You’re not asking too much for wanting your boyfriend to be a responsible adult and get his own place, especially if he’s financially stable. He’s become comfortable under the roof of mommy and daddy and his reasoning for his actions has expired. Offer to help him look for alternative living situations on the weekends and make sure you’re being encouraging verses making him feel like an incapable lazy man.
